If you are participating in an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Provider Course, the course sponsor is responsible for providing a syllabus (either print or CD-ROM) to all registrants. You will be required to have this syllabus, whether the printed version or this CD-ROM version, during the course. Both contain chapters and slides for each lecture and workstation, and
will help you follow along during course sessions. It can also be used for
ongoing reference in your practice, clinic, hospital, and more. This CD-ROM
version is especially helpful, with instant navigation from chapter to chapter
and quick and easy electronic topic search. All clinical information in the material
is evidence-based and topics include: First Trimester Complications; Medical
Complications of Pregnancy; Vaginal Bleeding in Late Pregnancy; Preterm Labor and
Premature Rupture of Membranes; Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance; Labor Dystocia;
Malpresentations, Malpositions, and Multiple Gestation; Assisted Vaginal
Delivery; Shoulder Dystocia; Postpartum Hemorrhage; Maternal Resuscitation and
Trauma; Safety in Maternity Care; OB Cases; Third and Fourth Degree Perineal
Lacerations; Diagnostic Ultrasound in Labor and Delivery; Neonatal
Resuscitation; Cesarean Delivery; Birth Crisis.
It will take approximately 16 hours to complete this syllabus during an ALSO Provider Course.
