Description

McLaren FMR is an urban program that is unusual in being unopposed in OB, so if you want to work in a city and deliver babies, we can give you the tools. We serve a diverse population, balanced in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and spirituality. This gives you a wide variety of clinical experiences so that you can be prepared for the full breadth of family medicine. We emphasize continuity of care and longitudinal learning through our very active FM Center. Your patients will identify you as their physician and will actively assist you in learning. We believe in a lifelong approach to learning and give you the tools and opportunities to learn. This includes patients and learning resources. We have a variety of teaching clinics that residents are involved in such as the Diabetes Group Visit, Multidisciplinary Chronic Pain Assessment Clinic, Muscular Dystrophy Clinic, Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine Clinic, ADD Clinic, Derm. Clinic, Skin Procedure Clinic, Geriatric Assessment Clinic, and Integrated Primary Care that all take place in our Family Practice Center. These give you the added resources and added skills to take care of your most challenging patients. Most of the inpatient teaching occurs with our own residents and faculty on our inpatient service and our OB/nursery service.
